Bloomington Hospital is currently seeking an Orthopedic/Neuroscience Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join the Clinical Education & Practice team. The CNS is a leader in the delivery of patient centered care utilizing evidence based practice at Bloomington Hospital. Prospective candidates must hold a current Indiana State License as a Registered Nurse and have completed a graduate program accredited to train Clinical Nurse Specialists which grants at a minimum of a masters degree. Certification in the area of specialty is required within 12-18 months of hire.
The CNS positions report to the Director of Clinical Education & Practice but will work closely with the Directors of the specialty areas.
Orthopedic/Neuroscience CNS:
The Orthopedic CNS will work with the staff, management and physicians of the Regional Orthopedic Center. The CNS will enhance best nursing practice and care for the patients of the Total Joint Program, Back and Neck Clinic, community support groups and inpatient Orthopedic and Acute Rehab areas. The CNS will lead improvements in the clinical care models for the care of patients with neurological diagnosis and will be joining a team to maintain our Stroke Certification. The CNS will work closely with the inpatient units as well as lead evidence based care throughout the organization.
