Nurse-Family Partnership gets $2M gift from director

A member of the Nurse-Family Partnership board of directors has donated $2 million to the Denver-based organization, the partnership reported Tuesday.
Jim Hagedorn, CEO and board chairman of the Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. in Marysville, Ohio, is making the donation. He has served as board chair at Scotts since January 2003, and CEO since May 2001.

The Nurse-Family Partnership (website) is a nonprofit that helps low-income, first-time parents and their children. It serves more than 21,000 families in 31 states, offering nurse home visitation.
The donation will be used to help the partnership’s efforts to create and expand community and state support of its public health program around the nation.
