Job Description:
Full Time 8:30 A.M./5:00 P.M. Day Master's 3 years The Lead Nurse Practitioner provides supervision and administrative oversight to a team of practitioners and provides direct care as a Nurse Practitioner for a minimum of 50% of his/her time. As a team leader, the Lead Nurse Practitioner provides daily management of personnel issues such as performance management and staffing. As a Nurse Practitioner, s/he works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team and is responsible for providing comprehensive and age appropriate care to both well and/or ill patients. The Lead Nurse Practitioner educates patients and/or intervenes in acute or chronic illness. The Lead Nurse Practitioner practices within the guidelines of the unit department and institution and in accordance with the Nurse Practitioner-Physician Written Agreement required and approved by the state of Maryland. The Lead Nurse Practitioner is granted affiliate staff privileges by the Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Board; these privileges list specific tasks and are reviewed annually.
