Job Description:
Full-time days/flexible Days Under general direction of the Director Clinical Utilization, manages the daily operation of Patient Access, Patient Placement and Central Scheduling in accordance with all regulatory agencies and applicable laws. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring proper revenue cycle management in conjunction with Finance, HIM and Utilization Management; ensure all third party payer requirements are met for appropriate reimbursement for provided services; manages the implementation of electronic health records as it relates to assigned departments; implements and maintains processes to ensure all third party verifications, pre-certification and notification requirements are met in accordance with established contracts, regulatory agencies and legal parameters; evaluating procedures, processes and systems for their accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness and recommending necessary process improvements.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare related field and CHAM or CHAA certification perferred.
Three years supervisory experience in patient access/admitting within an acute care hospital preferred.
Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of Medicare regulations and secondary payer processes.
Knowledge of registration and scheduling software systems necessary.
Familiarity with all regulatory agencies (e.g. CMS, JCAHO, DPH).
Strong skills with computers and Microsoft Office applications necessary.
