Unscheduled AM HS Diploma or equivalent CPR/BLS 1-2 years

**Must be a registered EEG Tech**Job Summary: Under minimal supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, performs routine, complex, and intra-operative electroencephalograms (adult, pediatric, and neonatal) and evoked potentials (BAER, VEP, SEP) on outpatients and inpatients. Has developed maturity and expertise in the neurodiagnostic field, which is incorporated in the performing of specialized recordings and monitoring of additional physiological phenomena by means of appropriate techniques in research. Performs other duties as needed.Job Specifications: High school diploma. Successful completion of an educational program for EEG technologists accredited by the AMA committee on allied health education and accreditation or successful completion of the trainee program at LLUMC or equivalent training. Maintains ongoing continuing education to complete and pass parts I and II of the evoked registry with the American Board of registered electroneurodiagnostic technologists (ABRET). One year at the Tech I level. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration required: R.EEG T., CPR (BCLS). One year experience in the medical field with direct patient care. CPR (BCLS). Manual dexterity for electrode placement and machine operation, typing ability, speak clearly to communicate instructions, give and gather information in a rapid, succinct manner. Communicate by phone and in person to the patients, doctors, nurses, and fellow staff members regarding testing procedures. Rapid and immediate communication with physicians as required per routine and/or emergent situation/case. Able to take instruction and apply to practical situation (trainable). Calm pediatric patients and apprehensive parents. Ability to calculate, quantify, qualify, use initiative and judgment, read and interpret data, organized and prioritize workload, memorize and follow a routine of work, follow instructions, recognize and report safety problems, orient to location spatially, observe and record observations. All of these abilities need to be performed in routine, acute and emergent situations.
