Full-Time 80 hrs, variable, some weekend rotations AM
HT (ASCP) Certification requiredJob Summary: Performs embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains and immunohistochemistry, including technically complex procedures, following standard operating procedures for patient specimens, proficiency samples and quality control. Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Serves as a technical resource and preceptor/mentor. Evaluates new equipment and procedures and prepares standard operating procedures. Meets and exceeds turn-around time goals for test production. Performs other duties as needed.
Job Specifications: High School Diploma or GED required. HT Certification by the ASCP, HTL (ASCP) certification preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in a high complexity pathology laboratory including routine, special stains, Immunohistochemistry, preferably In-situ hybridization, Immunofluorescence and Transmission Electron Microscopy preferred. HT (ASCP) certification required. HTL (ASCP) certification preferred. Possesses excellent dexterity and analytic skills. Ability to plan and organize technical work, manage workload, operate technical instruments and equipment, input data and type. Possesses clear speaking abilities in English. Ability to use available resource material independently to resolve and document challenges constructively. Detail oriented. Able to reason and solve problems effectively, analyze and interpret data. Able to organize work, to service multiple requests and tasks at one time, while maintaining quality and a professional manner. Self motivated and works well with minimal direction. Articulates logical and well-founded arguments that support conclusions.
