Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is excited to present a new training program for the experienced registered nurse who is interested in transitioning to an acute care pediatric setting. The Versant Transition Fellowship at CHLA will prepare and support the experienced nurse as they enter into a pediatric specialty area. The primary patient populations on 6 West are Surgical, Solid Organ Transplant, Epilepsy Monitoring, Nephrology, and Gastrointestinal; however, we do care for additional populations such as Ophthalmology and Rheumatology. These various patients allow our staff to acquire a wealth of knowledge and skills, in managing one of the most diverse patient populations within our organization. This transfers into a comprehensive understanding in the expertise needed for the high quality management of the myriad of diagnoses that encompass our unit. Our unit was built, and has been sustained, on the values we share with our team daily: Quality, Dedication, Compassion, & Teamwork. We believe that through these values we can deeply impact and change the lives of our patients and families, while changing the face of nursing through the process. Our fast paced unit is filled with helpful, energetic, and very social team players that love to create opportunity for others, thus bringing people to health, while fulfilling their life long calling.

Requirements: 2 years of experience working as an RN in an acute care or non-acute care setting, however acute care experienced is preferred. Bachelor’s degree required, BSN or MSN degree preferred. Current American Heart Association CPR and PALS certification.
