As part of Center for Global Health (CGH), the International Nurse Care Manager would be responsible for: working closely with the (CGH) Medical Directors and International Case Coordinators to triage medical records provided ; work with divisions/clinics to create preliminary treatment plan with detailed CPT codes; work with Division Nurse Care Managers and/or Clinical Care Coordinators with care coordination and complex local and/or return to home country discharge planning within a multidisciplinary framework; assessing the learning needs of international patients and families and in collaboration with the other members of the healthcare team, developing teaching program to meet the needs; further assist with any care coordination aspects that may be unique to our international patient population leveraging existing resources at CHLA. Additionally this position will serve as a liaison to patients and their families, to Embassies and foreign sponsors. Minimum Education: Bachelors’ degree in Nursing Minimum Experience: Three years nursing experience with two years advanced level pediatric clinical experience; one year utilization management and/or discharge planning experience. License, Registration or Certification required: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of California. Current CPR training Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Care Management experience. Thorough knowledge of managed care, utilization management, discharge planning, and continuous quality improvement concepts. Ability to function independently as a clinician, role model, and patient/family advocate in a specialty area. Computer Literacy. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Fluency in both English and another language desired.
