Full time varies Varied Shifts Position Summary:

· Working in a team, adhere to department sanitation guidelines to ensure safe food for patients, visitors and staff.

Required Qualifications:

· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Ability to work individually and in a team.
· Good communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Maintains clean and safe work environment: Work area clean daily; sanitized appropriately. Spills wiped up immediately. Food/objects on floor picked up immediately. Always follows safe food handling guidelines.
· Tray assembly: Accurately assembles patient trays with correct food items and standard set-up. Available to help on line at all times. Delivers patient trays to ICU, CCU, BHU and SJRRH.
· Dishwashing: Operates dishwasher according to proper procedure. Inspects dishes, utensils for cleanliness. Re-run if not clean. Store clean dishes, pots, utensils in appropriate area. Temperature logs completed 100% of time.
· Cart maintenance: Delivery carts cleaned and sanitized after each meal. Timely return of dirty tray carts to nursing units.
· Pot washing: Pots washed, sanitized dried according to protocol. Wash water changed at least every 2 hours. Chemical concentration of rinse water checked and recorded with each refill.
· Trash disposal/floor maintenance: Empties trash in a timely manner. Records assigned temperatures daily. Alerts supervisor to problems. Demonstrates good hand hygiene, uses gloves appropriately.
· Department education: Attend department in-services and meetings. Participate in QA/PI programs when assigned.
· Teamwork and cooperation: Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with fellow employees.
· Healthstreams: All annual Healthstreams modules 100% successfully completed.
· Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work.

· Other duties as assigned: Demonstrates willingness and follows through with other duties requested.



Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

· Moderate physical efforts (lifts/carry up to 25 lbs). Frequent prolonged standing/walking. Subject to burns and cuts. Exposed to hazards of steam and heat. Exposed to heat, wetness, and odors in kitchen and or patient areas. Exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elements.
