Arbitrator sides with Hershey Medical Center over nurses

An arbitrator has ruled Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center did not violate a contract with its nurses when it collaborated on a non-union psychiatric unit that opened April 1.
Penn State-Hershey and PinnacleHealth System formed a new, non-profit company to operate the 74-bed inpatient psychiatric unit in Harrisburg.
Both hospitals moved all of their inpatient psychiatric beds to the facility, located at Pinnacle’s Polyclinic campus.
