Caregivers sign petition to support nurses
Thursday, March 11, 2010
With negotiations between Morton Hospital and the local nurses union still at an impasse, the union’s contract expired Monday and has not been extended.
“We are still working under the same basic conditions of the contract at this time, but the contract itself has actually expired,” said Joyce Wilkins, chairwoman of the local bargaining unit.
Wilkins said 340 health professionals at the hospital have signed a petition in support of the union’s position, and that the letter was delivered to hospital management Wednesday afternoon. The nurses intend to picket outside of Morton Hospital next Wednesday.

This is nice one, as it’ll be very motivational and encouraging for to those nurses. All the best for them.
