Hundreds of Nurses to Converge at State House on March 31 for Press Conference and Lobby Day

More than 200 nurses from across the Commonwealth, many of whom are the victims of workplace violence, will converge at the State House for a press conference and lobby day, where they will push for passage of a package of bills designed to address what has become a growing crisis in the health care sector. One of those bills, HB1696/SB1753, which will stiffen the penalties of those who assault nurses, is scheduled to be voted on by the House of Representatives the same day. The event is being hosted by the Massachusetts Nurses Association, which will hold a press conference on March 31, 2010 beginning at 11:30 a.m. and will feature remarks from nurses assaulted on the job.
