ISU plans to offer Doctor of Nursing Practice program
Thursday, March 11, 2010
Idaho State University is planning to replace its master’s degree in nursing with a relatively new program that allows nurses to earn a doctorate in the field.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice offers nurses a doctorate-level degree but places more emphasis on the clinical aspects of the field. In contrast, the other existing doctorate programs in nursing focus on preparing the candidates for research and teaching duties.
