Medical mission serves 1,686 patients

When Cascade Medical Team came looking for volunteers to serve in an isolated and impoverished area of Guatemala, several Salem-area professionals raised their hands.
A group of more than 100 people — mostly from Oregon — spent about 12 days this spring providing everything from dental exams to wheelchairs serving the largely Mayan population in rural Solola.
