Monday, March 08, 2010
Nurses from three New Jersey chapters of the National Black Nurses Association traveled to Washington, D.C., Feb. 4 to join RNs from around the country for the 22nd annual National Black Nurses Day on Capitol Hill.
The Concerned Black Nurses of Newark and the Northern and Southern New Jersey chapters of the NBNA visited and spoke with three state legislators or their representatives about the affordability, quality and accessibility in healthcare. They met with Congressman Donald Payne from New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District, and with a representative from the offices of U.S. Sens. Frank R. Lautenberg and Robert Menendez of New Jersey.
