Northern Nevada nursing home officials dispute poor federal rating
Saturday, January 03, 2009
While a few Northern Nevada nursing homes earned above-average scores, most received poor marks on a federal agency’s Web site ranking of nursing homes with five-star ratings.
Two nursing homes operated by Evergreen Health in Carson City and Gardnerville received one star, “much below average.”
The Life Care Center of Reno got two stars, “below average.” Manor Care Health Services in Reno had three stars, “average.”
The only nursing home in Northern Nevada to receive five stars was Battle Mountain General Hospital, a government-run facility. Receiving four stars were South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Evergreen Mountainview Health in Carson City and Highland Manor in Fallon.
