Nurse creates medical mission program

During a 34-year career in nursing, Mary McMahon has collected four professional degrees and worked as an administrator, teacher and volunteer.
So it should come as no surprise that while on her first medical mission trip with a group from Savannah Christian Church, McMahon looked around the Amazon jungle communities and saw nothing but patients she could help and problems she could fix.
“Your nursing skills kick in right away,” she said. “When you go to these villages, you know immediately what the issues are.”
