American Legion Auxiliary Department of Arkansas Nurses Scholarship To provide financial assistance for postsecondary educationto veterans' children in Arkansas who wish to study nursing. Amount Awarded: $500Number Awarded: 1 each year.Duration: 1 year.Deadline: March of each year.Eligibility: Eligible to apply for this scholarship are children of veterans who wish to study nursing. Arkansas residency of the child and the veteran parent is required. The parent must have served during the eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion. The student must be a high senior or graduate who has not yet attended an institution of higher learning. Selection is based on character, Americanism, leadership, financial need, and scholarship.
