James D. Durante Nurse Scholarship Program To provide financial assistance to nursing students interested in long-term care careers. Duration: 1 year.Deadline: May of each year.Eligibility: Applicants must work for a long-term care facility that is a member of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited LON or RN school of nursing program. They must have an interest in long- term care. As part of the application process, the following is required: an application form, 3 letters of recommendation, a written personal statement, and a written essay that links what the applicants have learned academically to their work experience in long- term care.Additional Information: Recipients must agree to complete 25 hours of volunteer service at a long-term facility that is a member of AHCA.Contact Information:National Foundation for Long Term Health Care
