Pauline Thompson Nursing Education Scholarship

The applicant must: attend an accredited baccalaureate, associate degree or an RN-to-BSN completion nursing program; be a permanent resident of Pennsylvania; be in good academic standing (minimum GPAof 3.0); demonstrate leadership qualities; and be involved in community service. The applicant must be amember of a state Student Nurses Association, unless there is no school chapter. If the applicant is an RN,he/she must be a member of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA). The application must beaccompanied by: a letter stating why the applicant believes the scholarship is deserved. This letter shouldaddress scholastic abilities, leadership qualities and community service. Attach an official transcript ofgrades or a copy of your acceptance letter into an RN-to-BSN completion program, 3 letters of reference (2must be from nursing school faculty), and proof of membership in a state Student Nurses Association orPSNA.

Amount Awarded: $500

Number Awarded: 1 each year.

Duration: 1 year.

Deadline: May of each year.

Additional Information: The recipient must attend the annual banquet to receive the scholarship. The recipient will be the guest of the foundation at the banquet and financial support for travel and overnight accomodations will be provided if necessary.
