Alabama State Nurses' Educational Loan Program To loan money to registered nurses in Alabama who are working to complete advanced nursing programs. Amount Awarded: $Number Awarded: Several each year.Duration: The pay-back period begins on the date of graduation or within no more than 4 years from the date of the loan, whichever comes first. No repayment is required during the first 6 months of the pay-back period. Any payments made during this period are interest free. Beginning with the seventh month, the interest is charged at 8 percent.Deadline: Eligibility: This program is open to registered nurses who are members of the Alabama State Nurses' Association and are working to complete advanced nursing programs on either a full-time or part-time basis. A personal interview may be required.Additional Information: Recipients must continue their membership in the Alabama State Nurses' Association until the loan is repaid.Contact Information:Alabama State Nurses' Association
