Miller-Erb Nursing Development Fund

To provide forgivable loans to nurses and nursing graduate students involved in the field of nursing among Mennonites.

Number Awarded: Varies each year.

Duration: 1 year; may be renewed.

Deadline: March of each year.

Eligibility: This program is based on the philosophy that "total nursing care encompasses a spirit of Christian love, understanding and caring for the whole person." It provides funding for the following activities: loans for research and writing with a forgiveness clause when published and presented to a Mennonite constituency and others in the nursing field; graduate study loans with a forgiveness clause for service in Mennonite institutions; leadership training loans for nursing service with a forgiveness clause for service in Mennonite institutions; and other creative projects that support the philosophy of the program. Selection is based on evidence of Christian faith and commitment, participation in local church organizations, professional nursing ability and experience, leadership of others and organization of group tasks, dependability in carrying out commitments, ability for realistic self appraisal, and effectiveness in relationships with others.
