West Virginia Health Services Scholarship Program

To provide scholarship/loans to health professional students who are willing to work in an underserved rural area in West Virginia.

Amount Awarded: $10000

Number Awarded: Varies each year.

Duration: Recipients must agree to work at least 2 years in an underserved area in West Virginia after graduation.

Eligibility: This program is open to 1) medical students in their final year at a West Virginia school of medicine or osteopathy who will be entering primary care internships or residency programs in the state and 2) students in their final year of a primary care educational program in West Virginia for NPs, PAs, and nurse midwives. Applicants must be willing to work in an underserved rural area in the state after graduation. Although in-state residency is not required, preference is given to West Virginia residents.
