American Nurses Foundation Scholar Awards Program To provide funding to nurses interested in conducting research. Number Awarded: 5 each year.Duration: 1 year.Deadline: April of each year.Eligibility: This program is open to RNs who have earned at least a bachelor's degree. Applicants must be beginning researchers who have had no more than 3 research-based publications in refereed journals and have received, as a principal investigator, no more than $5,000 in extramural funding in any 1 research area. Proposed research may be for master's thesis or doctoral dissertation only if the project has been approved by the principal investigator's thesis or dissertation committee. This program includes 1 grant restricted to a minority nurse researcher to conduct research on a topic related to a minority issue and 1 grant restricted to research that addresses a core issue of the sponsoring organization.
