APON Excellence in Pediatric Oncology Nursing Practice Award To recognize and reward outstanding professional practice by members of APON. Number Awarded: 1 each year.Duration: Annually.Deadline: April of each year.Eligibility: This award is presented to a registered professional nurse currently involved in the direct care of pediatric oncology patients. Nominees must be association members; have at least 2 years of direct care experience in pediatric oncology; exemplify a high level of compassion and specialty expertise documented by peers and/or family/patients; be a recognized expert in clinical nursing practice; actively incorporate research and new ideas from the literature into clinical practice; and be an effective communicator.Contact Information:Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses
