Eight and Forty Lung and Respiratory Disease Nursing Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to registered nurses who wish to prepare for advanced positions in supervision, administration, or teaching.

Amount Awarded: $2500

Number Awarded: Varies each year.

Duration: 1 year.

Deadline: May of each year.

Eligibility: This program is open to registered nurses who are graduates of an accredited school of nursing and who wish to continue their studies in the field of lung and respiratory disease nursing on either a full-time or part-time basis. Awards are based on personal and academic qualifications, especially past experience and future employment prospects as they relate to lung and respiratory disease nursing. US citizenship required.

Additional Information: The Eight and Forty was organized by members of the American Legion Auxiliary in 1922; it began awarding these scholarships in 1957.
