Jean E. Johnson, RN Scholar Award

To provide funding to nurses interested in conducting research on reducing the impact of physical illness.

Amount Awarded: $3500

Number Awarded: 1 each year.

Duration: 1 year.

Deadline: April of each year.

Eligibility: This program is open to RNs who have earned at least a bachelor's degree. Applicants must be either beginning researchers who have had no more than 3 research-based publications in refereed journals and have received, as a principal investigator, no more than $5,000 in extramural funding in any 1 research area, or experienced researchers. Proposed research may be for master's thesis or doctoral dissertation only if the project has been approved by the principal investigator's thesis or dissertation committee. The proposed research must relate to reducing the negative impact of physical illness, especially cancer.

Additional Information: There is a $50 application fee.
