Pre-Doctoral Research Training Fellowship in Epilepsy

To provide funding to doctoral candidates in designated fields for dissertation research on a topic related to epilepsy.

Amount Awarded: $16000

Number Awarded: Varies each year.

Duration: 1 year.

Deadline: September of each year.

Eligibility: This program is open to students pursuing a PhD in biochemistry, genetics, neuroscience, nursing, pharmacology, pharmacy, physiology, or psychology. Applicants must be conducting dissertation research on a topic relevant to epilepsy under the guidance of a mentor with expertise in the area of epilepsy investigation. Applications from women, minority groups, and people with disabilities are especially encouraged. Selection is based on the relevance of the proposed work to epilepsy, the applicant's qualifications, the mentor's qualifications, the scientific quality of the proposed dissertation research, the quality of the training environment for research related to epilepsy, and the adequacy of the facility.
