VA Predoctoral Nurse Fellowship

To provide research funding to graduate students in nursing who have completed their advanced course work and are at the dissertation stage of their doctoral education.

Amount Awarded: $25000

Number Awarded: 2 each year.

Duration: 1 year; may be renewed.

Deadline: February of each year.

Eligibility: This fellowship is open to RN doctoral candidate whose planned research has a clinical research focus and deals with topics that are relevant to the nursing care of adult or aging veterans. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited doctoral program, hold a master's degree in nursing or a master's degree in a field related to nursing and a bachelor's in nursing, have successfully completed the required comprehensive exams, have an approved dissertation proposal, be a US citizen, hold an active and current registration as a graduate professional nurse in the state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States, and be able to meet the credentialing and licensing requirements of the VA. They must be interested in working full time on their proposed dissertation research topic at a VA facility.
