A. T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship
This program was established in 1983 in memory of chemical engineer and visionary mentor A.T. Anderson (Mohawk), a former consultant to the U.S. Congress on American Indian Affairs, one of AISES’ six founders, and AISES’ first Executive Director. The A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship is AISES’ largest scholarship program. Administered by AISES, this program scholarships to college students pursuing degrees in the sciences, engineering, medicine, natural resources, and math. $100,000 in scholarships were awarded to 85 students in 2009. The students are selected based on exceptional academic merit and leadership.

A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Scholarship

Abbie Sargent Memorial Scholarship
Annual awards for New Hampshire residents who are undergraduate or graduate students. Preference is given to students majoring in Agricultural related studies, including Home Economics, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Veterinary Medicine, and Animal Science. Applicants must be graduates of an approved public or private high school, have average or better grades, have financial need and be dependable and show acceptance of responsibility. Renewable.

Adolph Van Pelt Scholarships
To provide financial assistance to Native American students interested in post-secondary education. Alabama State Nurses' Educational Loan Program
To loan money to registered nurses in Alabama who are working to complete advanced nursing programs.

Duration: The pay-back period begins on the date of graduation or within no more than 4 years from the date of the loan, whichever comes first. No repayment is required during the first 6 months of the pay-back period. Any payments made during this period are interest free. Beginning with the seventh month, the interest is charged at 8 percent.

Alabama State Nursing Scholarship
This $600 scholarship is available only to Alabama residents who have been admitted to and are currently attending clinical nursing courses with a 2.5 grade point average or higher in the School of Nursing undergraduate program. A student receiving these funds must plan to work within the state of Alabama for at least one year immediately after graduation. If the student does not work within the state, these funds become a loan and must be repaid. The UAB Financial Aid Office administers this scholarship.

Albert Baker Fund
Open to earnest students of Christian Science who are members of the Mother Church, academically sound, and attending (or have been accepted by) an accredited college, university, or vocational school, or be enrolled in Christian Science nurses' training. The Albert W. Dent Student Scholarship was established to:Provide financial aid and increase the enrollment of minority students in healthcare management graduate programs. Encourage students—through structured, formalized study—to obtain positions in middle and upper levels of healthcare management. You are eligible to apply for an Albert W. American Indian Nurse Scholarship Award
The American Indian Nurse Scholarship Award Program was started by The National Society in 1927 to give students of American Indian descent the opportunity to pursue careers in nursing. The students are expected to return to work among their people to help improve health care. Some students work on reservations, and others find employment in hospitals in areas largely populated by American Indians. Intended originally to benefit females only, the program has expanded to include males and the career goals now include not only nursing careers, but jobs in health care and health education, as well.

AORN Academic Scholarship Program
To assist a nursing student complete their educational requirements and join the nursing eye care field. RN Applicants shall be a member of AORN in good standing. Membership must be maintained continuously for 12 months prior to the June 30th application deadline and throughout the funding period. Membership is considered lapsed if full dues are not received at AORN Headquarters by the last day of the renewal month. A cumulative 3.0 GPA average is required and must be maintained for RN members. Student nurse applicants must submit proof of acceptance or enrollment in a NLNAC or CCNE program at an accredited institution. RN member nurses must be enrolled in an appropriate accredited institution for higher education. Applicant is responsible for submitting all materials, including application form, transcripts, resume or CV, personal statement and three letters of endorsement.

AORN Association of periOperative Registered Nurses Scholarship Program
A number of scholarships are available. Awarded on the basis of scholastic merit and financial need. Preference given to applicants interested in the OR. Scholarships awarded for nursing studies only for nursing students. Additional scholarships available to current RN licensed AORN members seeking advanced degrees in related fields. Scholarships provide funds for tuition, related fees, and books only. Scholarships are paid out at the end of the academic year, provided recipient complies with criteria.
