J.D. Archbold Memorial Hospital Scholarship
Applicant must be in the last two years of an undergraduate program in a health care field utilized by the hospital and must commit to three years full-time employment at Archbold Medical Center after graduation.

Jack E. Barger, Sr. Memorial Nursing Scholarships
To provide financial assistance to veterans, military personnel, and their dependents who are studying nursing in Pennsylvania.
Number Awarded: At least 2 each year.

James D. Durante Nurse Scholarship Program
To provide financial assistance to nursing students interested in long-term care careers.
Duration: 1 year.

James D. Durante Scholarship
Applicants must work for an NCAL-member assisted-living or AHCA-member long term care facility and be enrolled in an accredited LPN, RN, or graduate program. The application must be accompanied by three letters of recommendation and a written essay. Awards are granted to 20 students annually. Applications will be available in March 2003. An application is posted online at the AHCA website.

James M. Boswell Annual Scholarship in Nursing
Applicant must be enrolled/admitted to this institution. Applicant must be a resident of Horry County (S.C.) and have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

Jane Callahan Memorial Past Presidents' Award
To provide funding to members of NAON who wish to attend continuing education programs.

Japanese American Citizens League Entering Freshman Awards
One-time award for high school seniors planning to attend any institution of higher education. Must be a member of the Japanese-American Citizens League, or child of a member. Send self-addressed stamped envelope for application, specifying application category.

To recognize and reward outstanding educational service by members of APON.

Jernigan Nursing Scholarship
Established with funds received from Thomas E. Jernigan. Criteria: must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above and be eligible to enroll in a junior level clinical nursing course at the University of Alabama School of Nursing, University of Alabama at Birmingham. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate leadership potential or ability through participation in extracurricular activities or similar experiences. The School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs announces application deadline and procedures.

Jerry Maki Scholarship
To provide financial assistance to students from selected counties in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska who are majoring in social work or nursing in college.

John and Geraldine Hobble Licensed Practical Nursing Scholarship

John E. O'Connor Memorial Scholarship
To provide financial assistance to members of the AANA who are interested in obtaining further education.

John H. Mathis Scholarship
Available to children of Lone Star Industries employees who have been employed at least one year. Renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study. Based on academic merit and extracurricular activities.
Duration: 4 years.

John Wilson Rodgers Memorial Scholarship
Established by a family member as a memorial to Mr. Rodgers, who suffered a myocardial infarction in 1960 and died of heart failure in 1982. For the twenty-two years between his first heart attack and his death, Mr. Rodgers had many opportunities to observe, first hand, the momentous contribution cardiovascular nurses make to the health care system. Criteria: good academic standing, current full-time enrollment in study leading to the MSN degree. Preference will be given to applicants who are pursuing, or their program of study shows that they plan to pursue, advanced study in cardiovascular nursing and those who show financial need. The School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs announces application deadline and procedures.

Johnson & Johnson Marshall Klaus Mother Baby Nursing Award
To provide funding for small research projects to members of AWHONN.

Josephine Roessler Printer Award Nursing Scholarship
Applicant must be enrolled/admitted to this institution. Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Josephine Roseta Educational Fund Nursing Scholarship
Pittsburgh's Ohio Valley General Hospital (OVGH) School of Nursing, via community donations to the Josephine Roseta Educational Fund, is giving all incoming nursing school students free tuition, plus a job when they graduate. Juanita Robles-Lopez/Pampers Parenting Institute and Proctor & Gamble Scholarship
This award is presented by the National Association of Hispanic Nurses to a NAHN member pursuing a masterís degree in a maternal-child nursing program. Criteria for the $2,000 award include the following: Three to four page statement outlining the maternal child needs affecting Hispanic communities and the applicantís potential leadership in this area. Two letters of support outlining the applicantís superior potential, clinical teaching and knowledge of maternal child needs. Verification of status (accepted/enrolled) in a graduate maternal child nursing program. Academic excellence (minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred). Financial Screening form completed. National Scholarship application form completed. Verification of membership status in NAHN.
