Wal-Mart Associate Scholarships
Awards for college-bound high school seniors who work for Wal-Mart or whose parents are part-time Wal-Mart associates or have not been with the company for one year. Based on ACT or SAT scores, counselor recommendations, transcripts, class rank, activities, and financial need. One-time award of $1000. For use at an accredited two- or four-year U.S. institution.

Walter and Marie Schmidt Scholarship
To provide financial assistance for the study of nursing to residents of Oregon.

Walton Foundation Scholarship
Award for high-school seniors who are children of a Wal-Mart associate who has been employed as a full-time associate for at least one year. $6000 undergraduate scholarship payable over four years. Must submit latest federal income tax return. Contact a member of Wal-Mart management for an application.

Washington League for Nursing Scholarship Program
To provide financial assistance to students working on an AND, bachelor's, or graduate degree in nursing in the state of Washington.

Washington State University Summer Doctoral Fellows Program
To provide financial assistance to students completing their doctoral program at any school who are interested in working closely with faculty members at Washington State University during the summer to prepare for their academic careers.

Waterbury Women's Club Fund Awards
To provide financial assistance to Connecticut residents who will be attending a college in the state to study nursing or a health-related subject.

Williams & Alice Hinckley Fund
The William and Alice Hinckley Fund scholarships will be awarded, primarily to graduate students from the San Francisco Bay Area. Financial need, career plans reflecting humanitarian concern, and good academic work are given priority by the selection committee. Applicants chosen for final consideration will be interviewed by a member of the scholarship committee. The Scholarship Committee may limit the number of scholarships awarded to students following the same career paths. The Hinckley Fund requires that students who have been awarded a scholarship make a midterm report by December 15 and a final report by June 15 to the Hinckley Fund.
